Horn Liang Foods, formerly known as "Horn Liang Egg Shop," was founded by Mr. Ku Chin-Liang (辜金良) and Mrs. Hsu Chin-Yu (許金玉) in 1965. Located on the bustling Fuxing South Road in Pingtung City, Taiwan, the shop started from a small, low-roofed tin shack and gradually grew into a sizable family factory. It was also when they began selling their products in traditional markets across Taiwan, including Kaohsiung, Taichung, and Hsinchu.

Due to Mr. Ku's illness and confinement to bed in his later years, the business was taken over in 1998 by the couple, Mr. Ou Ling-He (歐陵合) and Mrs. Guo Qiu-Mei (郭秋妹). They have carried on the legacy of Hualiang, upholding the original spirit of the Ku family. Under the leadership of Mr. Ou and his wife, and with the assistance of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, Horn Liang Foods embarked on the expansion of its facilities in 2005. In 2006, they obtained the certification for high-quality century eggs from the National Animal Industry Foundation (NAIF), paving the way for their expansion into international markets. Since then, the company has been striving for technological advancements in the field of agriculture.

Safety and quality have always been the top priorities for Horn Liang. To maintain stringent control over fresh duck eggs, Horn Liang has established breeding contracts with duck farmers, in addition to their own duck farming operations. With approximately 10 self-owned farms, Horn Liang utilizes their three generations of expertise in duck farming to create the most comfortable environment for their ducks. Through their own demonstration farms, Horn Liang shares their breeding experience with other contracted farms and actively engages in knowledge exchange with duck farmers.

For all fresh duck eggs, Horn Liang adheres to the highest standards and implements rigorous quality control measures. In regard to the duck's diet, Horn Liang imposes strict regulations that mandate the designated feed suppliers across all farms. By entering into contracts with these suppliers, we ensure the prevention of any potential cross-contamination issues related to the feed. In terms of duck housing, Horn Liang regularly sends personnel to inspect all livestock farms, ensuring that every duck has a comfortable living environment.

We regard every individual duck egg as a treasure, and in our pursuit of delivering the utmost quality to consumers, we prioritize food safety as our primary concern. Our production facilities are designed to comply with the Regulations on Good Hygiene Practice for Food (GHP), and we have successfully obtained certifications in food safety and quality systems, including HACCP, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000.

In terms of manufacturing control, we adopt a batch management approach to meticulously record the source and traceability of each egg. During the processing stage, every single egg undergoes thorough selection at least five times, with each selection conducted with the utmost scrutiny. Furthermore, we implement comprehensive quality control inspections at each processing step and regularly submit samples for third-party inspections. These measures ensure the quality and safety of our products, allowing you to confidently savor the precious and delicious eggs we offer.

Through a step-by-step process of experimentation, we have been able to modernize our traditional farming methods. By gradually incorporating mechanization, we have created a more comfortable and efficient environment for both the ducks and the farmers, enhancing their overall well-being. In our processing operations, we have incorporated artificial intelligence technology to ensure precision at every step. This not only allows us to achieve greater accuracy in our processing methods but also provides a more comfortable working environment for our colleagues.

With steadfast determination, Horn Liang has successfully promoted oriental cuisines all around the world, bridging the gap between Taiwan's traditional delicacies and the international palate. This allows overseas Taiwanese to savor the authentic taste of Taiwan, even when far away from their homeland.
